TEXAS CITY
Mayor Dedrick Johnson’s office argues the police union’s board that called for Chief Landis Cravens’ removal is composed of officers who are under internal affairs investigations for policy violations, according to a Friday night news release from the city.

G file info being released by the mayor? Cravens and Manuel Johnson aren’t just crooked and they’re also dumb. You can’t be both, you gotta pick a fault.
Charles Douglas
I think the Mayor and the Chief are on the right track! I also think they will work hard to staighten out the mess that some are trying to maintain at TCPD! One thing for sure, you have to start doing right before you can finish doing right! I think the Mayor and the Chief are fair and professional and they will get the job done! I've been there, done it, and seen it too,...as a retired officer myself!
Ron Shelby
Sounds like they Mayor and Chief is doing what needs to be done to clean things up. Time for the State to come in and take a close look at the Union and these officers who hold state licenses under its purview. More important, other police unions in the region need to step up and make their voices heard before they are pulled in and dragged through the mud with this group. Time to “police” your own.
